We believe you shouldn’t have to spend a fortune to experience the joy of mas. BYMAC invites masqueraders to create, customise and celebrate in a way that feels uniquely theirs.

BCR School of Mas
BCR School of Mas is an immersive, hands-on journey into the art of Trinidad Carnival mas-making.
Over 8 weeks, you’ll take an idea from concept to creation—learning how to design, construct and finish your very own mas costume alongside experienced mas makers and members of the Berkeley Carnival Revolution community.
No previous experience is required. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist, designer or craftsperson.
All you need is curiosity, creativity and a willingness to learn.

We strive for inclusivity and affordability while being environmentally conscious. Throughout the year our space is available and open for workshops, pop-ups, community meetings, and creative networking and tool sharing.

Mix & Mas
Mix & Mas is your one-stop mas marketplace for finishing touches, creative add-ons and ready-made pieces.
Designed to complement your BYMAC package, Mix & Mas gives you the freedom to customise your costume without the hassle of crowded stores, traffic or retail prices.
Find everything from bras, backpacks, headpieces, arm and leg adornments and waist belts to trims, beads and other finishing touches. Mix and match pieces, add your own creativity, and create a costume that feels uniquely yours.
Think of it as the masquerader’s thrift store—affordable, creative and full of possibilities.
Items are first come, first served and available to view and purchase at the mas camp. For masqueraders abroad, items can also be viewed and ordered via WhatsApp, making it easy to get your Carnival pieces wherever you are.
